This program is designed around a lovely nonfiction picture book, The Duchess and Guy: A Rescue-to-Royalty Puppy Love Story by Nancy Furstinger. Before reading the story, ask children if they know anyone who has rescued a dog? Do they own a dog? Can their dog do tricks?
After reading the story, kids will receive a beagle mask. They should cut it out and glue a Popsicle stick to the back of the mask. Mask on activity page.
